The Freedom Advocacy Network (FAN) is a registered South African non-profit company that
Young South Africans represent a massive proportion of our population. So, to EMPOWER, BUILD, and CONNECT in the fight for freedom, FAN does what no-one else is really willing to do: we fight for the real, constructive, non-racial, constitutional freedoms of young South Africans.
FAN campaigns on four key issues: education, sport, jobs, and voting rights. These issues occupy unique positions in the lives of our country’s youth and the empowerment of our country’s future voters, leaders, job creators, educators, and sporting heroes.
#FreedomToLEARN is about making sure hardworking young South Africans get the education they deserve – an education that will empower them to be the generation that saves South Africa once and for all from the anti-freedom and race-based ideas that have kept South Africans from fulfilling their potential.
To fight for the #FreedomToLEARN, FAN takes aim at failing schools and race-based admission policies.
FAN’s fundraising and legal teams stand ready to take on any obstacle, opponent or bully standing in the way of any child’s #FreedomToLEARN.
#FreedomToPLAY is about taking aim at any and all obstacles that stand in the way of talented and hardworking young South Africans who wish to excel in soccer, cricket, rugby, and netball. Sport is such a key part of South African culture, that FAN considers it one of the four most important battlegrounds where we can win the fight for freedom.
To fight for the #FreedomToPLAY, FAN takes aim at failures to provide young South Africans with the equipment and opportunities they need to achieve their sporting dreams on merit and talent. Part of this fight is taking a stand against unfair, racist, and absurd barriers to sporting achievement like race-based quotas.
FAN’s fundraising and legal teams are taking on obstacles, opponents and bullies standing in the way of any child’s #FreedomToPLAY.
#FreedomToEARN is about defeating the obstacles that stand in the way of young South Africans with talent and work getting a fair shot at employment.
Whether it’s minimum wages that price young people out of jobs, BEE that benefits old or corrupt cadres and cronies of the government, or regulations that make it impossible for South Africa’s youth to earn a living through the use of their talents, FAN’s campaign and legal teams will not hesitate to fight for real, value-adding jobs for South Africa’s young people.
#FreedomToLEAD is about saving South Africa’s democracy. This means educating young South Africans about voting and empowering them to take active, constructive, and effective part in our country’s government – now and in the future. If all young South Africans get a FAN education about freedom, hard work, and the rights of all South Africans to take part in politics, our country will see a new majority to govern for the freedom and prosperity of all. By mobilizing young South Africans to stand and vote for real freedom, we can achieve a future where no government pits one group against another, or one South African against another.
FAN’s campaign team and legal team will fight for the right of young South Africans to vote, to stand for election, to understand politics, for free and fair elections, and for a real non-racial democracy that promotes freedom.
A prosperous and free South Africa where active and engaged citizens, young and old, work together across differences to solve problems, supported by accountable, honest, effective, and limited government.
